Yes I did buy myself an E71.. Could not resist! Always loved the E series and my N95 8gb was my first N series.
I purchased the White version and IT ROCKS! I prefer the white compared to the grey.. it looks sleeker and the steel is a lighter coloured steel.. the grey has a smokey coloured steel.. also the white is more WOW.. only thing is, it is white and I need to be careful about getting it dirty.. :-)
What is in the box that I liked: 2GB memory card, leather pouch with matching mobile wrist strap
My thoughts (will be constantly updated as time goes by):
- QWERTY keyboard: is fantastic! it is so light and easy to use.. there is predictive text however i have not used it extensively..
- Form factor: great! so nice on the hand.. really need to hold it to know how good it feels in your hand.. so thin!
- Build quality: really sturdy.. does not feel like plastic.. the partial steel casing is lighter on the White compared to the Grey.. the back cover is also metal..
- Performance: HUGE improvement on the E61/E61i (both of which I had).. much faster response time.. sending SMS/MMS also much faster..
- Screen: very clear! no complaints on the size.. being landscape, themes needed to be VGA and there are plenty out there..
- GPS: appears to be more sensitive than my N95 8GB.. Google Maps and Nokia Maps finds my location much faster than the N95 8GB does..
- Keys: so many shortcut keys its fantastic! there is a dedicated Home, Calendar, Contacts and Email keys..
- Home screen profiles: 2 active home profiles available! supposedly 1 for personal and 1 for network.. have nog configured it with work (Exchange email) so have been using both home profiles for personal for now..
- Headphone: was not too impressed with this one.. first use I thought it was faulty.. could not hear the other person on the line.. I think Nokia needs to upgrade this accessory..
- USB: love the fact that it has a rubber cover for it!
- Memory Card slot: also has a cover! shipped with a 2GB card with Worldmate, Solitaire, Live Messenger, Yahoo Go, Advanced Call Manager, Multiscanner, and RT GR game ready for installation..
