I have installed it and looks like its official, maybe beta? What I noticed:
- Synchronisation is quicker as is back up..
- Option to hide when minimised.. not even showing up anywhere on the task bar.. need to select it again from menu or click on the desktop icon..
- Nicer progress bars, transition of items..
- Quicker identification of connected BB..
- Updated my OS with no issues..
UPDATE
Tried to use the Media Manager and Media Sync.. When clicking Start on Media Manager, nothing happens.. When clicking BB Media Sync, the following pop-up appears, click Yes, a very short installation happens you can even see a status bar and file size but then that's it! Click start again and once again you are faced with this pop-up..
Makes me think this is just beta..

Does this version have the operational Music Sync? That's the million dollar question.
