Where form meets design and function.
Yesterday I received my new black Jawbone Bluetooth Headset.
It looks so sexy! It is quite different from all the other bluetooth headsets in the market. The design is the first thing that made me want it! It comes in red and grey as well but went with the all black look.
Charging is pretty easy. Needed to find an Australian adaptor since it was US, luckily had one lying around at home. Otherwise, just use the USB portion of the charger which can be plugged into the computer for
charging. The charge level is very visible. While charging, the light indicator is red and once fully charged the light turns white.
Paired it with my E61i and that was a breeze. As with any pairing process, the bluetooth needs to be active. On the Jawbone, just needed to depress the function button for 3 seconds until the indicator light flashed red
and white. Then discover the Jawbone using your mobile, enter the PIN and voila, it's paired! I will also be pairing this with my Treo750 and Blackberry Pearl.
The Jawbone is shipped with 4 earloops (L & R standard lengh; L & R long lenght) and a number of earpieces. After playing around with the earloops and the earpieces, I settled with the right standard earloop and an elongated earpeice.
When in use, the Jawbone takes a little getting use to as it is slightly heavier the my Plantronics Voyager 510 (another fab bluetooth headset). It sits apart from your ear and rests on your cheek. The mic is actually on the upper side of the headset (as you can see in the 3rd pic) hence it needs to sit clsoe to your cheek to pick up your voice.
The fit to my ear is not snug unfortunately so I cant move my head too much or else the Jawbone will fall off. Maybe I have not found the right earpiece yet.
The packaging is impressive. It came in a clear box which is great to store the Jawbone when not in use. It's a pity it didn't come with a pouch to carry it around in.
I have not road tested my Jawbone but once I do shall share.
